We believe that: 1. A good education is the key to individual and societal success. 2. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. 3. Excellent education depends on highly competent teachers, motivated students, the support of parents, and school administrators. 4. While each student is unique, all students can learn. 5. Schools must offer all students encouragement and opportunities for success. 6. Each student should be motivated to succeed in school. 7. Students should develop a sense of responsibility for their own learning. 8. Schools are halls of knowledge and must maintain environments that are safe and conducive to learning. 9. A nurturing learning environment allows all students to maximize their potential and develop a positive attitude toward lifelong learning and leadership. 10. Educators should utilize a variety of instructional strategies to enable student success. 11. Parents must participate in their children's education through active and supportive involvement. 12. Everything should contribute to the well-being and development of students.
Goals
Dongola School's goals are to:
· Develop 21st Century Skills
· Improve State Test scores
· Incorporate more critical thinking skills into the curriculum at all grade levels
· Strengthen a sense of community in our school through increased school- wide activities and developing communication skills
· Identify at-risk students earlier in their school careers
· Promote greater physical fitness on campus through walking and nutrition
